Acquire basic knowledge of the perspectives and methods of the tourism sociology. In particular, we will consider how tourism is dynamically changing local communities and our daily lives, focusing on the new culture, communication, and community that is created through tourism and mobility.
Students will acquire basic knowledge and perspectives on the sociology of tourism by reading literature on sociology and cultural anthropology. Through literature reading, students will acquire academic skills in reading, presenting, and discussing the literature. In addition, students will engage in fieldwork to research and analyze the local community using the perspectives acquired in class.

観光社会学の視点と方法に関する基礎的知識を身につける。とくに、観光が地域社会や私たちの日常生活をいかに動態的に変化させているのかについて、観光や移動を通じて生まれる新たな文化やコミュニケーション、共同性のあり方に注目して考える。

社会学や文化人類学に関する文献の講読を行い、観光社会学の基礎的知識および視点を習得する。また、文献講読を通じて、文献の精読・発表・議論の方法などに関するアカデミック・スキルを身につける。さらに、フィールドワークを行い授業で身につけた視点を用いて地域の調査・分析に取り組む。
Students will acquire basic knowledge and perspectives on the sociology of tourism by reading literature on sociology and cultural anthropology.
