Focusing on regions and landscapes, students cultivate the ability to consider the movement of people and the phenomenon of tourism from a spatial perspective.
This course mainly examines regional cities both within and outside of Japan, including how their origins, growth, and regional characteristics are connected to formation of a tourist region. Using tourism geography methods, we will consider them from diverse spatial scales. Reading the tabletop maps and interpreting the topographical maps are essential processes for deepening your consideration of the points in the class content.

地域と景観に着目し，人の移動と観光現象を空間的な視点から考察する能力を培う。
Focusing on regions and landscapes, students cultivate the ability to consider the movement of people and the phenomenon of tourism from a spatial perspective.
国内外の地方都市をおもに取り上げて，その起源・成長と地域的性格がいかに観光地域の形成に結びついているのか，観光地理学の方法を用いて多様な空間スケールから考察する。授業の内容を手がかりに考察を深めるためには，机上における地図の読解や地形図の判読が欠かせない工程となる。

地理学の授業にとって，地図と地図帳は「辞書」である。というのも，授業で取り上げる地域や場所の地理的位置を理解しなければ，授業の内容をもとに自らの考察を深めることは難しいためである。そこで，履修者は教室で配付される地図とは別に，自身の地理的知識に応じた地図帳などを手元に用意して，教室の内外で辞書のように繰り返し参照すること。
