This course aims for students to acquire ways of thinking and perspectives on Regional Geography, so they comprehensively understand places and areas, along with the ability to use and apply them to tourism.
This course investigates and considers from perspectives of Regional Geography by using major maps and images and by targeting urban spaces in France, Europe, and especially in Paris. To understand Paris according to its various aspects, students hear lectures on the need for a spatial perspective based on geographical knowledge.

場所や地域を総合的に捉える地誌学の見方・考え方を習得し，観光研究に活用・応用できる能力を身につける。

ヨーロッパの中のフランス，とくにパリの都市空間を対象として，主要な地図と画像をもとに地誌学的な検討と考察を進める。多様な側面からパリを理解するためには，地理的知識を背景とする空間的な視点が欠かせないことについて講義する。理解を深めるために，リヨン，マルセイユほか，フランスの諸都市についても触れる。

地誌学の授業にとって，地図と地図帳は「辞書」である。というのも，授業で取り上げる地域や場所の地理的位置を理解しなければ，授業の内容をもとに自らの考察を深めることは難しいためである。そこで，履修者は教室で配付される地図とは別に，自身の地理的知識に応じた地図帳などを手元に用意して，教室の内外で辞書のように繰り返し参照すること。
