【Course Objectives】

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
1) Analyse tourism and migration from the viewpoint of the sociology of gender.
2) Understand the intersecting power relations such as gender, class and sexuality to consider from multiple angles the impact of social, cultural, economic and historical factors on people’s everyday lives.

【Course Contents】

This course introduces foundational concepts from the sociology of gender to analyse national and international tourism phenomena. In particular, it emphasises the changing characteristics of modern society and intersectionality to examine the impact of gender norms on tourism, migration and the mutual relationship between individuals and social structure.
