The purpose of this seminar is to cultivate perspectives based on sociology and cultural anthropology from which to analyze tourism phenomena in terms of “culture”.
“Culture” is not only regarded simply as an object of existing tourism, but within a dynamic relationship between “culture” and tourism is established socially, and tourism emphasizes the viewpoint of grasping what kind of culture is produced. Based on the concept of "tourism culture", we will specifically consider such cases involving Japan.

本演習では，社会学や文化人類学をベースに「文化」という観点から観光現象を分析する視点を養うことを目的とする。
The purpose of this seminar is to cultivate perspectives based on sociology and cultural anthropology from which to analyze tourism phenomena in terms of “culture”.
「文化」を単に既存の観光の対象としてのみとらえるのではなく，「文化」と観光とのダイナミックな関係の中で，いかに「文化」が「文化」として社会的に成立しているか，観光がいかなる「文化」を生み出しているか等を把握する視点を重視する。このような問題を「観光文化」という概念に基づいて「日本」をめぐる事例について具体的に考察する。
