Engaging in fieldwork based on cultural anthropology and folklore perspectives and methodologies, the class aims to express the results as ethnography.
This discipline is the so-called social research training. It is necessary to approach with a serious attitude and manner of facing the location. Respondents met while conducting the surveys should not be collaborators known previously at the university, but students should devise a survey plan, go into the areas, find people, make appointments and build relationships. Anthropological fieldwork not only allows respondents to spend time, but also on occasion to go into the lives of others who have not lived together before (Life / Bio), and this is why it is necessary to think seriously about what is to be investigated. Through such introspection and intellectual struggle, a world completely different from pre-packaged learning programs is opened-up. In Seminar A, a study plan for this purpose will be devised, and the study methods for the fieldwork will be conducted, along with advance study of the location and subject.

本年度の社会調査実習は「イメージ」や「映像」による表現を取り込みます。履修にあたっては「フィールドワーク論」を履修済みであることを参加条件とします。ただし未履修の場合は3年春学期に必ず受講し、調査時までに各科目内容の全体を理解しておくこと。

社会調査実習は調査計画の立案、調査地との折衝、旅程の手配を含めて受講生の主体的な実践や共同作業により遂行されます。そのため意欲的な関わりが見られなかったり、欠席が目立ったりする受講生には中途であっても受講を停止する場合があります。
文化人類学・民俗学的な視点や方法論にもとづくフィールドワーク（FW）に実習として従事し、その成果をエスノグラフィー（民族誌）として表現します。

本科目はいわゆる社会調査実習です。取り組む姿勢や現地への向き合い方においては真剣であることが求められます。調査で出会うインフォーマントは事前に大学で用意した協力者ではなく、受講者自らが調査計画を立て、地域に入って人を見つけ、アポを取り、意思を疎通していくことで関係が生まれていきます。インフォーマントの時間を割いてもらうばかりか、これまで生活を共にしてきたわけではない他者の生（Life/Bio）に時に踏み込むことにもなる人類学的FWでは、自分はなぜ・何のために調査をするのか常に真剣に考える必要に迫られますし、そのような内省的かつ知的な格闘を経ることによって、予めパッケージとして用意された学習プログラムや旅行とは全く異なる世界が開かれるはずです。演習Aではそのための調査計画を立案したり、FWの方法論を学び、調査地・テーマに関する事前学習を行います。
