【Course Objectives】

This is an intermediate seminar designed for juniors to gain a better understanding of the fundamental aspects of tourism and its relation with society and culture through engaging with filed experiences. Students will independently conduct field research on topics chosen themselves related to, but not confined to, “tourism and socio-cultural change” and summarize and present the preliminary results for further improvement. The seminar also aims to improve students’ English and academic skills.

【Course Contents】

Based on the research skills acquired during the 2nd year seminars, students will conduct literature reviews, select their own research topics with original research questions, while employing appropriate research methods to explore the questions from the field. In fall semester, students will analyze the field data and report the results for further improvement in order to turn them into a 4th year graduation research and or thesis.
