【Course Objectives】

After extensive critical research of previous studies, seminar participants engage in mutual discussions among the professor and classmates, formulate their unique research theme independently, and conduct empirical research based on psychological methodology and statistical data analysis, in order to achieve meaningful graduation thesis research in contemporary society. They will be guided from the third year for the final graduation thesis.

【Course Contents】

This course focuses on research areas in cognitive psychology and social psychology that are of increasing interest in modern society, such as the psychology of judgment and decision making, consumer behavior and purchase decision making, and human information behavior and Internet use. Students will elaborate on their own research themes, set up research hypotheses, and present and discuss reports that include specific research content (questionnaire items) and experimental plans. Students will also learn about research methods such as web survey methods and statistical analysis methods. In the end, students will complete a final report that includes an introduction of the graduation thesis and a plan for specific survey or experiment. Based on the achievements of the spring semester seminar, a graduation thesis presentation will be held during the summer vacation (early September).
