The aims of this course are for students to consider what a play is and to write plays for the theater.
Thinking about theatre also means thinking about drama. The purpose of this course is to write drama, that is, a short play of about 5–10 minutes depending on the tasks presented. Students are expected to create drama innovative to the concept of theatre.

演劇のための戯曲を書き、戯曲とはなにかを考える。
The aims of this course are for students to consider what a play is and to write plays for the theater.
戯曲のことについて思考するということは、演劇のことを考えることでもある。
身体から一つの声が生まれるということは、なんと素晴らしいことであろうか。「せりふ」という書かれた言葉はその奇跡の瞬間への導きである。
この授業では受講生に戯曲を書いてもらう。
二つの流れがある。一つは、毎回の授業で提示された課題に応じて５分から１０分ほどの短い戯曲を書き、授業内でリーディングして、合評することが繰り返される。その流れとは別に、自由なモチーフで３０分から６０分ほどの戯曲を執筆してもらい最終週までに提出してもらう。
以下におおまかな授業計画を示すが、この通りには進まない可能性もある。
これまでの演劇の概念を革新するような戯曲の創作を期待する。それゆえ、演劇経験者や戯曲を書いたことのあるなしには全くこだわらない。ただし、戯曲を書く作業は大変な負担である。受講生にはその覚悟を持って、授業に参加してもらいたい。
