1. Acquiring the basic knowledge about the community theory and the ability of analysis and explanation of multiple problems in the modern society.
2. Understanding the concept of community and the related concepts and acquiring theoretical basis for studying the community development.
We will study the basic theory of community and discuss the issues of the modern community through the case studies of various problems about the city, region, welfare in the modern society.
First, we will learn the various theoretical perspectives about the concept of community from the classics of sociology. Second, we will discuss the problems about boundaries, belonging, inclusion and exclusion of community. Finally, we will consider the fundamental need of community as the way of live.

1. コミュニティの理論に関する基本的な知識を習得し、現代社会の諸問題をコミュニティ論の観点から解釈・分析する能力を身につけること。
2. コミュニティ概念および関連概念に関する複数の理論的立場を理解し、これからコミュニティ政策学を学んでいく上での理論的な基礎を築くこと。

社会学の観点からコミュニティの基礎理論を体系的に学び、現代社会が直面している都市・地域・福祉問題の具体的な事例分析を通じて、現代コミュニティの課題を議論する。
第１に、コミュニティ概念をめぐる複数の理論的立場について社会学の古典をもとに学ぶ。第2に、事例研究を通じてコミュニティの境界や帰属、包摂と排除をめぐる問題について考察する。第3に、それでもなお、人びとの生存の場としてのコミュニティが希求されていること、その可能性と課題を考える。
We will study the basic theory of community and discuss the issues of the modern community through the case studies of various problems about the city, region, welfare in the modern society.
