【Course Objectives】

1) Understanding the historical background and social significance of community businesses.
2) Deciphering the essential elements and conditions of community business from case studies.
3) Based on the case studies, developing a business plan for community business.

【Course Contents】

In recent years, "community businesses," which are established through face-to-face relationships, have been attracting attention as a method to solve public regional issues that cannot be adequately addressed by existing social and economic systems. In this class, students will learn about the historical background of the emergence of community business and its social significance, then gain a concrete understanding of how business works through several practical examples in rural and metropolitan areas, and finally, learn about community business interactively by drawing up their own business plans and receiving feedback.
