(1) Learn how to do fieldwork (especially observation methods) to acquire the ability to conduct appropriate research when visiting sites for seminars.
(2) Learn how to do preliminary research to acquire the ability to plan fieldwork.
This class consists of the following three parts
(1) Learn the basic fieldwork techniques: observation methods and field note writing.
(2) Conduct a simple observation research on the campus to experience the process of field note writing, problem finding, and hypothesis generation.
(3) Invite fieldworkers as guests to discuss their actual experiences.

本科目は半実習型授業であり、やむを得ない事由を除き、課題説明やプレゼンテーションなど重要な回に欠席した場合には単位修得が困難となる可能性が高いので注意してほしい。
（1）フィールドワーク（とりわけ観察法）の技法を修得し、ゼミなどで現地を訪れた際に適切な調査を行うことができるようになること。
（2）事前調査の方法を知り、フィールドワークの計画を立案できるようになること。

本講義は以下の3つのパートからなる。
（1）フィールドワークの技法の基礎である、観察法とフィールドノートの書き方について学ぶ。
（2）キャンパス内での簡単な観察調査を行い、フィールドノートの執筆や問題発見、仮説生成のプロセスを体験する。
（3）フィールドワーカーをゲストとして招き、実際の体験談を伺いディスカッションを行う。
