The purpose of this lecture is to understand contemporary political phenomena and issues, be able to explain their causal nexus, and be able to make judgments and criticisms about them.
The image that comes to mind when most people think of the word "politics" is not always a positive one. However, "politics" is an essential activity in human group formation, and the "politics" performed by local, national, and global governments all exist as an extension of this activity. In other words, our daily life itself is part of "politics”. Therefore, people are not immune from the activity of "politics”.
With this point as a premise, this lecture will illustrate the background of political phenomena and political issues observed from local fields and explain basic knowledge about politics.

現代の政治現象や政治課題を理解し、その因果関係について説明ができ、それらに対して自らの判断や批判が行えるようになる。

「政治」という言葉から思い浮かぶイメージは、必ずしもプラスのものばかりとはいえない。しかし、「政治」とは人間の集団形成において不可欠な営みであり、私たちが通常思い浮かべる地方自治体・国・世界における「政治」は、全てその延長線上に存在している。言い換えれば、私たちの日常生活そのものが「政治」の一環であると言える。ゆえに私たちは、好むと好まざるとにかかわらず、「政治」という営みから無縁ではいられない。
この点を念頭に置きつつ、本講義では地域から見える政治現象や政治課題の背景をひも解き、政治に関する基礎知識を解説していく。
