Students will study universal and specialized subjects found in curriculum of Graduate School of Economics, “researching and understanding in depth general and specialized studies in College of Economics as well as economics, accountancy, and train one's personality based on the Christian teaching and to contribute to cultural development”. Students will acquire practical knowledge on economy and accounting. They will make interim and draft presentations before creating and submitting their theses.
Students will learn how to prepare for their thesis writing by creating skeleton sheets. Students will bear in mind their research originalities while discussing about prior researches. To prepare for their master’s thesis interim presentation, students will check their arguments and think about their thesis structures. After discussion at the interim presentation, students will recheck their skeleton sheets and polish their thesis concepts. After master’s thesis draft presentation, students will create and submit their theses.
The following is a conceptual, average progress plan. Students should be aware that they may receive different instructions depending on their specializations. In addition, there will be frequent private instructions, simultaneous progresses, and repetition of certain parts.

経済学研究科の教育課程編成方針に掲げる「経済学部における一般的ならびに専門的教養の上に，経済学，会計学を研究し，その深奥を究め，かつキリスト教に基づいて人格を陶冶し文化の進展に寄与する」が実現するように，経済学，会計学に関する応用的な知識を修得し，修士論文について中間発表，草稿発表を行ったうえで，論文を作成し，提出する。

論文執筆に向けた「スケルトンシート」の作成を通じ，論文を執筆するための方法を身につける。自分の研究のオリジナリティを意識しながら，先行研究の検討を行う。修士論文中間発表会に向けて，論点を確認し論文の構成を考える。中間発表会における検討をうけて， スケルトンシートを再確認し，論文構想の推敲を行う。修士論文草稿発表会を経て，論文を作成し提出する。
なお，下記はあくまで理念的，平均的な進行計画を例示したものである。専修領域ごとに異なる指導となったり，個別指導となったりする部分が少なくないこと，同時並行して進めたり相前後して進めたりすべき部分を含むこと，立ち返って繰り返すべき部分を含むことなどに留意されたい。

| 1 | 受講の準備。1修士論文作成副指導教員届を提出し，2初回受講の確認を経て，3初回指導にのぞむこと。 |
| 2 | ★論文テーマ（タイトル）設定。そのために「スケルトンシート」を作成する。スケルトンシートには，下記のうち★印のついた項目を含めるが，若干修正などしてもよい。 |
| 3 | ★キーワードの列挙。関心ある領域の，関心あるテーマに関連したキーワードを列挙することで，自身の関心を明示し洗い出す補助作業とする。 |
| 4 | ★問題意識の確認。その課題に取り組もうと思った動機やきっかけを書き出すことで，テーマを意識化する。 |
| 5 | ★目標と成果の絞り込み。その研究によって何を明らかにできるのか，何が得られるのかを明示する。その後，これを 「目標規定文」にまで絞り込む。 |
| 6 | ★問いをたてる。疑問や好奇心を出発点にし,気になることがらについて,「なぜ～なのか」という疑問の形で課題をつか む。「なぜ，おもしろいと思ったのか｣｢本当に,そうなのか」「それだけだと言い切れるか」など,多様な手がかりがある。 |
| 7 | ★仮説をたてる。テーマによっては，仮説の形で課題設定できる場合がある。論証（反証）可能な命題として示す。 |
| 8 | 主張を明示する。テーマによっては仮説の形で課題設定しにくい場合もある。「～ではないか」「～のはずだ」という主張として，課題を設定してもよい。 |
| 9 | ★アプローチ（研究手法）を選ぶ。研究領域によって中心となる手法が異なる。「先行研究のサーベイと考察」は，ほぼすべての領域に共通の基本手法である。その他のアプローチとして「史料サーベイと考察」，「アンケート調査と統計処理」，「インタビューと整理」，「実験と考察」，「モデル化とシミュレーション」なども。 |
| 10 | 修士論文中間発表会向けのレジュメ，パワーポイント資料等の作成。 |
| 11 | 修士論文中間発表会（6－7月）での報告。昼の院生は水曜午後，社会人コースは土曜午後を予定。 |
| 12 | スクリーニング。関連しそうな文献・資料・史料・データ・材料などを収集し，ざっと読む。 |
| 13 | 図書や雑誌記事等の検索。Webcat Plus1, OPAC, CiNii Books, GeNii, Google Scholar, CiNii Articles, magazineplus, WorldCat などを目的に応じて用いる。 |
| 14 | ★主要参考文献リストの作成。文献リスト作成のきまりに従って書き出していく。その後も追加・修正等を行う。 |
| 15 | 先行研究の整理。スクリーニングによって重要なものを絞り込み，精読・検討すべき基本的な先行研究を定める。指導教員や専門家のアドバイスも受ける。 |
| 16 | 先行研究の精読・検討。必要に応じてメモをとり，レジュメ化する。疑問点を書き出す。疑問解決への努力の中から新たな課題発見やオリジナリティ獲得につながることもある。 |
| 17 | キーワードのマップ化。すでに書き出し，必要に応じて追加しておいたキーワードを見直す。相互に関連するいくつかのキーワードをまとめ，論点としてとらえなおす。 |
| 18 | 論点の列挙。研究目標（成果）を「問い」「仮説」や「目標規定文」などの形で明示できたら，論証のために必要な論点を列挙してみる。 |
