【Course Objectives】

This course is intended as an introduction to the theory of solitons in mathematical physics, focusing on the topic called “Hirota’s bilinearization method”.

【Course Contents】

Soliton equations in mathematical physics appear as physical models for various phenomena such as fluid dynamics, plasma physics, and nonlinear optics. A common feature among them is the phenomenon of solitons, stable localized waves that behave like particles. In this lecture, we introduce some basic ideas in this field through simple examples. In particular, we discuss the method called “Hirota’s bilinearization method”.
