Students will study the latest city theories including creative city, community revitalization, city building, and citizen activity. Students will compare Japan with Europe and US when analyzing strategies to revitalize cities.
Students will study survival strategies for cities in rapidly globalized modern society, including theories of global city, creative city, and shrinking city. What city policies do governments and local agencies adopt? Which organizations participate in government, market, and civilian sectors? How do they plan to solve these issues? Students will analyze current state of these topics. Based on their research subjects and plans, students will report and discuss their original researches.

創造都市論、コミュニティ再生，まちづくりや市民活動に関する最新の都市理論を検証しつつ，都市再生戦略について，欧米との比較を行いながら分析をする。
Students will study the latest city theories including creative city, community revitalization, city building, and citizen activity. Students will compare Japan with Europe and US when analyzing strategies to revitalize cities.
急速にグローバル化する現代社会において，世界都市論，創造都市論，縮小都市論など，都市の生き残り戦略を取り上げる。各国の政府や自治体がどのような都市政策をとっているのか，またそこに政府セクター，市場セクター，市民セクターなど，どのような主体が参加し問題解決を図っているのか，現状を分析する。さらに各自の研究課題と研究計画に基づき，オリジナルの研究報告を行い，討論をする。
