It is an Introduction Phase subject aimed at deciding your research theme and selecting your academic advisor. You will learn the fundamentals of performing research, such as research ethics, statistical methods, resume preparation, material search methods, thesis preparation, theme selection, and research approach.
In this course, students will read literature on research methodologies that are essential for conducting clinical and empirical research related to sports, and report on their research. The purpose of the course is to critically examine the students' research interests and establish a research design for their master's thesis. The class will consist of (1) readings of texts and articles on research methodology, (2) reports on research concepts and previous studies by the students, and (3) lectures by the instructor.

研究テーマの確定、指導教員選択に向けての導入期科目。研究倫理、統計手法、レジュメ作成方法、資料検索方法、論文作成方法、テーマ選定、研究アプローチ等、研究する上での基礎的研究手法を学ぶ。

スポーツに関わる臨床・実証研究を行う上で必須となる調査方法論に関する文献講読とともに、受講生の研究報告を行う。修士論文作成に向けて、受講者の研究関心を批判的に検討し、その研究枠組み(research design)を確立させ ることを目的とする。授業は、(1) 調査方法論に関するテキストまたは論文の輪読、(2) 受講生による研究構想報告と先行研究の報告、(3) 担当講師の講義から成る。
