Students will learn the basic knowledge of the field-integrated sociology and pedagogy, mainly physical education, related to issues of sports culture and education, through close reading of literature and articles, etc. They will also develop the required professional qualities and abilities by compiling reports and discussing the application of knowledge toward specific issues.
Culture and education have a cyclical relationship in daily life, like the chicken and the egg. When we consider sport as a social phenomenon constructed in this cyclical relationship between culture and education, it reflects the present and future of society, and the present and future of the relationship between sport and people. Based on this awareness of the issues, I would like to share our knowledge of the circulation of practice and theory through reading and discussing literature and articles.

スポーツ文化と教育の問題に関わって、主に体育学を中心に社会学、教育学の分野融合的な基礎的知識を、文献、論文等を精読することで学ぶとともに、具体的な問題に向けての知識の活用について報告をまとめ議論することから、求められる専門的な資質や能力を育む。

文化と教育は、日常生活の中にあって、鶏と卵のような循環的な関係をなしている。スポーツを、このような文化と教育が循環的な関係の中で構築される一つの社会事象だと考えたときに、そこには、社会の現在と未来、スポーツと人間の関係の現在と未来が映し出される。このような課題意識に基づいて、文献、論文を読み合い議論することを通して、実践と理論が循環する生きた知識を習得する。
