Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
1)Develop sociological imagination by understanding key sociological ideas and methodologies
2)Acquire the ability to think about local phenomena from a global viewpoint.
3)Engage with existing research from a researcher’s perspective.
This course teaches key ideas and methodologies from sociology to critically interpret tourism and human mobility. In particular, it pays attention to new forms of community building and questions of diversity. Students read texts mostly in English in order to learn a broad range of concepts and social phenomena.

社会学の概念と方法論の理解を深めることで社会学的な想像力を身につけ、観光と人の移動を分析する能力を高める。身近な地域で起こっている事象をグローバルな視点で考える力を養う。既存の研究を研究者として読みとる力を育てる。

社会学の主要な概念と方法論について学び、観光と人の移動を批判的に読み解き、議論する。特に新しい形のコミュニティ形成について多様性の視点から考察する。英語の文献を読み込むことで幅広い概念や事象の分析に触れる。
