Aims to study the foundations and expansion of anthropological thinking.
In the first half of the course, students learn how to review academic articles. In the second half, the students will take original articles published in peer-reviewed journals such as Cultural Anthropology and write reviews of them.

観光人類学的研究の基礎となる、文化（社会）人類学の近年の広がりを学び、修士論文もしくは博士論文の執筆に応用可能な方法を身につける。
Aims to study the foundations and expansion of anthropological thinking.
研究を遂行するには適切な問いが必要であり、そのためには先行研究の入念なレビューを行わなければならない。
前半では、先行研究を適切にレビューするための方法を学ぶ。そのために、研究者が書くレビューを読んでみる。具体的には『文化人類学』掲載のレビュー（書評）を多めに輪読することで、論文をクリティカルに読み、文章に表現する仕方を体得する。次に、『文化人類学』等に掲載された査読付き原著論文を毎回1，2本取り上げ、前半で身につけた手法を活かしつつ担当者が要約とコメントを行い、最終的には、2000字程度（博士前期課程の場合。後期課程履修者3000−4000字）のレビューを執筆する。
