This course aims to enable students to understand the fundamental ideas of “Expression Studies.” It prepares them to apply the ideas at will in their individual research and productions.
This course considers what the human body and what human behavior actually are, where the essence of perception lies, and how these form one’s relationship with the world. Moreover, the course elucidates theoretically how visual formats such as photographs and movies (which are nothing other than “machine-mediated perception”) connect with a person’s perception = behavior and become expressions of feelings and ways of thinking.

「映像身体学」の基本的発想を理解し、それを各自の研究や制作に自在に応用できるようになる為の準備をする。
This course aims to enable students to understand the fundamental ideas of “Expression Studies.” It prepares them to apply the ideas at will in their individual research and productions.
人間の身体と行動の在り方がどのようなものか、そして知覚の本質がどこにあるのか、それが世界との間にいかなる関係を形成するのかを考えます。さらに＜機械による知覚＞にほかならない写真、映画などの映像が、いかにして身体による知覚＝行動に連接し、思考の方法や感覚の表現になるのかを原理的に解き明かしていきます。
