Continuing to the seminar in 2022 Autumn on philosopher Stanley Cavell on media, this course will examine Cavell's works with respect to media. At this time, the course will focus more closely on cinema. Through the works by Cavell, the important thought on cinema and media, this course will try to consider the experience of media.
After an introduction to the works of Cavell, we will consider some chapters from Must We Mean What We Say? as well as some articles from Cavell on Film. We will also read his books on cinema, including The World Viewed and Pursuits of Happiness. The course will also consider some articles on Cavell by other scholars.

2022年度秋学期は映画の本質について十分に論じた哲学者スタンリー・カヴェルのメディア論を扱ったが、この授業では引き続き、カヴェルの哲学をメディアという観点から考える。ただし今回はより映画に焦点をあてる。映画やメディアにかんして重要な思索をおこなったカヴェルの著作をつうじて、メディアの経験について考えることがこの授業の目的である。

イントロダクションののち、Must We Mean What We Say?などの著作の章、Cavell on Filmに収録された論文、The World ViewedやPursuits of Happinessなどの映画論、さらにCavellについて他の研究者が書いた論文を読解する。
