We work for understanding the theory of the role and limitations of social security in the welfare state and the latest trends in empirical research on social security. Then we will acquire critical analysis methods for policy.
Social security was institutionalized at the birth of the welfare state, and as its social problems have changed and expanded, social security has also continued to change. In addition, there is a phenomenon that social security itself creates new social problems. In this course, we will learn from the latest research trends how to critically analyze policies in response to research questions such as whether the social security systems currently in place are effective, what are the problems with the systems, and why the systems that seem to be effective are not being realized.

福祉国家における社会保障の役割と限界に関する理論と、社会保障を対象とした最新の実証研究の動向を理解し、政策の批判的分析方法を修得する。
We work for understanding the theory of the role and limitations of social security in the welfare state and the latest trends in empirical research on social security. Then we will acquire critical analysis methods for policy.
福祉国家の誕生時に社会保障は制度化され、その社会問題が変容・拡大するとともに社会保障も変化を続けてきた。また、社会保障自体が新たな社会問題を生み出す現象もみられる。現在実施されている社会保障制度が有効であるのか、制度のどこに問題があるのか、有効と思われる制度がなぜ実現しないのか、といった研究課題に対応した政策の批判的分析方法を最新の研究動向から学ぶ。
