The society, which 2050 carbon neutral target is trying to create, will invite great transformation of our economy and society developing since industrial revolution. Participating students will study the 21centurywide transformation process from various aspects of decarbonization and plastic circulation. This study might give good image of future economy and society. .
Thanks to the 1.5 degree target of the Paris Agreement and the IPCC reports, major countries now have targets which achieve carbon neutral around 2050. Utilizing oil, coal and natural gas as fuel or material will be quire difficult by mid century. This means the economy and society created by industrial revolution will be widely transformed. This course will examine what will happen in this transition, review major industrial groups and technologies, and study potential impact of decarbonization and plastic circulation on the economy and society.
The themes and their order may change according to the interests and questions of the course participants.

2050年カーボンニュートラル目標が目指す社会は、産業革命以降発展してきた経済、社会に、大きな変革（ｔｒａｎｓｆｏｒｍａｔiｏｎ)をもたらすものになるはずである、おそらく21世紀全体をかけて取り組むことになるこの変革について、脱炭素、プラスチック資源循環の様々な局面から検討し、今後の経済/社会の進む方向を考察する。

パリ協定の1.5℃目標、ＩＰＣＣの知見により、主要国は2050年前後にカーボンニュートラルを実現するとの目標を掲げることになった。今世紀半ばには、石油、石炭、天然ガスを燃料や素材に用いることが困難になってくる。これは産業革命以降のエネルギー革命が形作ってきた経済社会を大きく変えることを意味する。その移行過程で何が起きるのか、主立った分野、技術毎に検討を加え、脱炭素、プラスチック資源循環が経済/社会に与えるインパクトを探っていく。
なお、授業で扱うテーマ、その扱う順序は受講生の関心事など踏まえて変更することがあり得る。

| 2 | 気候変動対策の国際的取組 気候変動枠組条約から京都議定書、パリ協定へとの国際交渉を振り返る。 |
| 3 | 気候変動の国内対策枠組 日本の温室効果ガス削減目標と戦略の概要を過去、現在について検討、考察する。 |
| 4 | プラスチックと環境政策/廃棄物政策 プラスチック使用拡大を押し止めようとした環境政策、廃棄物政策の歴史を振り返る。 |
| 5 | 気候変動対策の経済学 気候変動対策は経済の悪影響を及ぼすか、経済学的な論争の歴史や、カーボンプライシングの政策的意味を考える。 |

| 7 | 気候変動対策①電力、製造業 エネルギー転換部門（発電）、製鉄、セメントなど製造業での取組と今後の方向を探る。 |

| 13 | 金融・経済活動とカーボンニュートラル ＥＳＧ投資やＴＣＦＤ、ＥＵタクソノミーと言った経済活動を左右するような政策と経済活動やCO2削減へのインパクトを考察する。 |
