SDGs defines 17goals and 169 targets to be achieved by 2030. In order to achieve these goals, the role of finance is inevitable. Goal 17 refers to partnership, indicating the importance of business and finance. This course is linked with VM320, which focus on the theoretical development of CSR and ESG finance, while this course will read epoch making reports and articles promoting CSR and ESG finance. So, it is preferable to take VM320 as well.
Being business persons, there are few chance to read reports and proposals directly. Usually, summarized documents by consultants will be enough for business use. But summarized documents are biased and reading full documents may have different messages and giving different messages/ In this course, we take time to read some of the epoch making reports and articles which promotes development of ESG finance as well as up-to-date reports and proposals. The below is the list of texts read in previous years class, which will be update, if necessary.

ＳＤＧｓでは持続可能な社会づくりのため17のゴールと169のターゲットという「すべきこと」が提示されているが、その中で重要なのは企業と金融の役割である。本講座は、VM320とセットになっているので、VM320と併せてとることが望ましい。VM320では、気候変動などの社会課題、およびCSRとESG金融について理論的に学ぶが、本講座では、CSR,ESG金融を発展させる契機となったレポートや、資料を読み込み、そのメッセージを直接理解する。

社会人になると、論文や提言など全部を読んで勉強する機会は意外に少ない。要約文であったりコンサルタントなどの資料から内容を理解することが多い。業務上はそれで事足れることが多いからだ。しかし、その要約にはかならず要約した人のバイアスがはいるし、現物のメッセージとは違っていることも少なくない。現物を読んでみて気が付くことも少なくない。そこでこの講義では、基礎資料を読み込み、そのメッセージについて議論する。想定する論文はESG投資発展に寄与したエポックメイキングな報告書や提言に加えて、最新の報告書なども状況に応じて随時とりあげる。毎回の授業で取り上げるレポートは、参考までに、昨年の授業で取り上げたものを記載しているが、状況に応じてよりタイムリーなものを取り上げる。

本科目は授業回の全てにおいて、理論等学術的な知見を踏まえつつ、担当教員の実務家としての経験、または研究成果を活かし、教員と学生との双方向の討論を重視した実践的な授業とする。学生には、課題の発表や討論など、授業での積極的な参加を期待する。
