【Course Objectives】

Strive to clarify research themes and methodologies, learn how to search for data, specific methods for writing academic papers and other basic knowledge and skills required to write master’s theses, and perform academic writing.

【Course Contents】

Building on specialist knowledge students can gain by taking subjects related to Japanese Language Education and its area of research, we will develop understanding of the current state of existing domestic and international research on a topic of interest that could become a research project. We will look specifically at issues covered and methodology used and apply knowledge acquired to refining each student’s research project. Also, students will give a research presentation based on a thesis in line with their chosen research topic and receive advice tailored to writing an academic paper. Each student should proactively look for literature related to their own research project and consider its place in their master’s thesis.
