【Course Objectives】

Students should be able to consider major topics in research of film and screen culture, theoretical frameworks, methods of analysis, and recent research trends, and link these areas to their own research.

【Course Contents】

We will work to understand film and screen culture as a review of multicultural society, and based on key examples of existing research, provide an overview from a gender studies perspective, of works that deal with social themes, such as the cultural memory of war and colonial occupation, immigration and globalization, nationalism and ethnicity, etc.

【授業の目標 / Course Objectives】

映像文化研究における主なトピック、理論的枠組みと分析の方法、最近の研究動向を考察し、自らの研究に結びつけることができる。

【授業の内容 / Course Contents】

多文化社会の批評としての映像文化を理解し、戦争や植民地支配の文化的記憶、移住とグローバリゼーション、ナショナリズムとエスニシティなどの社会的テーマを扱っている作品を代表的先行研究に基づいてジェンダースタディの観点から概観する。
