【Course Objectives】

In this course, students will read and reflect on excerpts from important theories and will subsequently utilize the viewpoint of cultural studies to discuss the interactions between cultures and languages, the phenomenon of intermixing, and intercultural expression brought about by globalization. Additionally, the module will help students develop the ability to critically consider various theories while accounting for their backgrounds and other factors, and to investigate the possibilities of applying this skill to individual research themes.

【Course Contents】

This course aims to help students to read and discuss academic papers informed by film studies that focus on orientalism, nations, colonialism, imperialism, gender, ethnicity, and other issues in the cultural transformation, interaction, and intercultural expression brought about by movements that exceed the limits of human beings and capital.
