This course is designed for graduate students to understand ways in which they can analyze and critically examine intercultural discourses in organizations from multiple perspectives. The students will be able to learn how to use analytic concepts to look into concrete intercultural discourses in organizations.
This course introduces to graduate students a wide range of related research projects on organizational communication (discourse) in which multiple cultures interact with one another due to globalization. The students will learn how to analyze and consider organizational communication (discourse) in light of organizational discourse research that is based on a variety of fields such as organizational studies, communication studies, semiotics, discourse analysis, rhetorical analysis, pragmatics, gender studies, and narrative studies. This course mainly deals with business organizations, but it also includes other organizations such as schools, hospitals, nursing homes, non-profit organizations, and residents' organizations.

本授業の目標は、受講生が組織における異文化コミュニケーション（ディスコース）について多面的に分析・考察し、理解を深めることである。受講生は、組織で生起する異文化コミュニケーションを分析するための概念を学び、それらの概念を適切に用い、具体的コミュニケーション場面を分析、考察できるようになることを目指す。

本授業は、グローバル化を背景とし多様な文化が交錯する組織のコミュニケーションについて分析・考察するため、関連する諸研究を扱う。具体的には、組織ディスコース研究で扱われる諸知見（組織研究、コミュニケーション研究、記号論、談話分析、レトリック研究、語用論、ジェンダー研究、物語論等の概念）を学び、それらの知見を用いて組織コミュニケーション（ディスコース）を分析、考察する。本講義で扱う組織は企業が中心となるが、学校、病院、介護施設、非営利団体、自治会などの様々な組織もその範疇に入り、そうした組織で生起する異文化コミュニケーションの分析も射程とする。

授業前は、あらかじめ資料が配布される場合、その資料を読んでおくこと。授業後は、組織コミュニケーションの理解を助けるキーワード、分析概念、理論を復習し、それらが当てはまる実際の事例を自分なりに探し、リサーチ・ノートにまとめておくこと。リサーチノートの提出は、☆のマークがついた回にそれ以前の授業で学んだ内容（キーワードなど）を使って事例を分析したものをA4一枚程度で提出する。
