【Course Objectives】

This course is designed for graduate students to understand ways in which they can analyze and critically examine intercultural discourses in organizations from multiple perspectives. The students will be able to learn how to use analytic concepts to look into concrete intercultural discourses in organizations.

【Course Contents】

This course introduces to graduate students a wide range of related research projects on organizational communication (discourse) in which multiple cultures interact with one another due to globalization. The students will learn how to analyze and consider organizational communication (discourse) in light of organizational discourse research that is based on a variety of fields such as organizational studies, communication studies, semiotics, discourse analysis, rhetorical analysis, pragmatics, gender studies, and narrative studies. This course mainly deals with business organizations, but it also includes other organizations such as schools, hospitals, nursing homes, non-profit organizations, and residents' organizations.
