【Course Objectives】

Students will acquire fundamental knowledge of Western medieval and Renaissance history, as well as the ability to accurately comprehend English-language specialized literature.

【Course Contents】

The seminars will be divided into two parts. In the 1st part, students will use 15 no teema de manabu chuusei yooroppa by Koichi Horikoshi and Takashi Jinno (Minerva Shobo, 2013) and specified research literature to gain fundamental knowledge and create an outline. In the 2nd part, they will go through training in translating English-language literature on the Western middle ages, prepared by the faculty member, into Japanese.
