【Course Objectives】

Students will enhance their ability to comprehend early modern historical materials, and will engage in practical research on their own research themes.

【Course Contents】

Students will continue to read historical materials in order to further train the ability to comprehend historical materials cultivated in the second year. Through careful reading of literature related to their research themes, students will narrow down their issues and search for materials of use in their graduation theses. Students should organize the content of such literature and historical materials, construct hypotheses, give reports, and deepen their research themes. Essentially, students will proceed by combining content from the following three activities:
I) Perform group reading of early modern historical materials and examine the content
II) Examine prior research and important literature
III) Report on and examine the current state of research and analysis of historical materials, for each half-credit
