【Course Objectives】

The ultimate goal of cultural anthropology is to answer the question, "what is human beings?" through a comparative study of modes of thoughts and practices in various regions. In this class, we will learn the basic ideas and methods of cultural anthropology through case studies on practices around the world. At the same time, we will cultivate our ability to analyze the value norms that they have taken for granted objectively and critically. Depending on the situation, we are going to conduct group fieldwork.

【Course Contents】

This class focuses on reading the literature on cultural and social anthropology. Also, student make research presentations based on their interests.
