【Course Objectives】

Students will set research themes, position their research themes as prior research of folklore studies and cultural anthropology, discover topics and unique approaches in the research, and connect these to their graduation theses. Students will and be required presentation of collection of case study data through fieldwork.

【Course Contents】

Students will independently set research themes and deliver individual presentations. The first half of the course will consist of reviewing prior literature on students' themes, and research planning. Adjacent domains will also be considered for prior research. In the second half, students will report on the cases they are investigating, and on their survey plans for the summer vacation period. Through repeated discussions during the course, students will learn as they share methods for academic paper writing, surveying, data presentation, and analysis.
