We will learn Czech language, cultures and history and acquire skills needed to search previous studies and historical documents for the study of European history.
First, this course provides an overview of Czech language and the current Czech Republic. We will then learn the basic Czech grammar and Czech history from the medieval era to the period after the establishment of the Czechoslovak Republic. Finally, we will see how to use historical documents for your study of history by analyzing a case study in Czech. The case study will deal with the issue of nationalism.

チェコ語とチェコの文化・歴史の学習を通じて、西洋史研究に必要な文献・史料調査の方法を身に着けることを目指す。
We will learn Czech language, cultures and history and acquire skills needed to search previous studies and historical documents for the study of European history.
最初にチェコ語と現在のチェコについて概観する授業を複数回にかけて行う。その後、チェコ語の初級文法について解説し、チェコの歴史を中世からチェコスロヴァキア建国期まで概説する。授業の最終部では、チェコにおけるナショナリズム研究／国民形成史研究の概観を行った上で先行研究の課題を示し、実際にチェコ語を用いて史料分析を行う。
First, this course provides an overview of Czech language and the current Czech Republic.
