【Course Objectives】

Course Objectives are learning basic knowledge about archaeology and analyzing sites of cities and villages from an archaeological way of thinking.

【Course Contents】

Course Contents are explaining the academic history of archeology, methods of analyzing sites and remains, and a specific example about excavating sites. Archeological methods are effective for research into history of village or architectures, which are difficult to find in written sources. I focus on sites which I researched, for example the early modern villages of the Ishigaki and Miyako Islands and history of Shuri Castle from middle age until modern.
