【Course Objectives】

In this course, the aim is to understand contemporary society where traditional values and norms are changing, through various cases of folklore and folk religion studies.

【Course Contents】

Folk religion is a manipulated concept that includes not only religious principles and practitioners, but religious beliefs and practices in the everyday world as a whole. The course will study the Japanese culture, focusing on shrines, temples and sacred mountains.
