【Course Objectives】

Students will become skilled in the basic academic literacy required for university, and carry out specialized learning from the diverse academic discipline of education.

【Course Contents】

(1) Students will understand the significance of intellectual life: Each student will introduce their diverse education experiences and how they became interested in education among his/her colleagues. Students will understand the significance of learning in university, and develop an interest in issues that affect their future.
(2) Students will acquire the skills of reading literature and summarizing: Students will read various literature prepared by the instructor, and will gain the ability to summarize even long papers.
(3) Developing active discussion skills: University is different from high school, and in-class discussions have great importance. Students should not be mere bystanders, but will actively speak out. They will gain the ability to respond to others’ opinions.
(4) Students will acquire the ability to compose a basic report: they will learn methods for writing a report based on a theme from the literature.
