【Course Objectives】

Students will understand the theoretical frameworks by doing literature readings in the fields covering Teaching Methods including class theory, curriculum theory, learning ability theory and educational evaluation theory. Regarding various academic issues, students should not have only a sense of passing familiarity or talk about overall education theory, but will be able to compose papers after having active discussions based on a knowledge of Teaching Methods.

【Course Contents】

Even when an outstanding educational theory is presented, teachers cannot teach children if the theory lacks the methods and contents to bring it to life. Teaching Methods is an academic field that examines its contents and methods. We welcome students interested in “What is a good class?” “What kind of proficiencies should children develop?” and “How should that learning proficiency be evaluated?” We wish to discuss theories and practices inside and outside Japan with those students.
