【Course Objectives】

Through applied theater, we will examine expression and the human being. In theater, expressing and receiving expression are inseparable. Expressing oneself in order to convey something and accepting the expression of others who are trying to convey something are the basis of human communication. Through trials of various acts of expression, we will deepen self-understanding and consider relationships with others, the nature and meaning of collaboration, and interaction with the environment.

【Course Contents】

Applied Theatre reconsiders the inherent functions of theater and expands its role in society. In particular, it focuses on the educational, restorative, and regenerative functions of theater, devising practical techniques that are accessible to all and actually applying them to a variety of fields. A typical example is the theater game. Theater games are devised so that everyone can express their feelings and thoughts without excessive tension. While actually experiencing theater games and other such activities in the workshop, we will discuss the possibilities of expressive acts and the conditions that make them possible.
