【Course Objectives】

To understand the basic concepts, theories, and research in the sociology of education that are necessary to examine various issues related to education. To grasp n theories and previous research on development in the field of sociology of education, and to deepen understanding of the various problems experienced by people in modern society, especially during adolescence and early adulthood.

【Course Contents】

In this lecture, students will deepen their understanding of the basic concepts, theories, and research of the sociology of education while taking up various issues related to education in contemporary society. Students will also deepen their understanding of phenomena related to education from various perspectives. Children go through various developmental stages before they become adults, and this lecture will focus on education during adolescence and early adulthood and the various issues related to the developmental stages. Specifically, the first half of the class will focus on school education (especially high school and college education) in adolescence and early adulthood, and the second half will focus on how young people experience changes in family and work roles in adolescence and adulthood.
