【Course Objectives】

By copying and learning Chinese and Japanese classics and writings, students will acquire the knowledge and background of calligraphy in general and the skills necessary for teaching junior high school Japanese language transcription.

【Course Contents】

In the practical training, students will learn how to write strokes and character forms in regular script and semi-cursive script – the fundamentals of calligraphy – by copying classics on calligraphy paper. In addition, lectures will be conducted to acquire knowledge of the historical background of calligraphy and its tools and materials.
Students are to bring their writing materials from the first session.
