【Course Objectives】

Individual course participants will develop basic thinking methods of conceptualizing 'world history', based on the concrete topic, period, and area.

【Course Contents】

These lectures will consider the question of what world history is. However, such an outline of world history cannot evenly explain historical processes in every region on earth from prehistory to the present age, in the manner of a high school history textbook. The course will present what sort of approaches there are to discussing world history as history studies. Specifically, while using the techniques of global history that have attracted attention in recent years, focusing on some regions both in Eastern and Western Eurasia, such as Europe, China, and Central Asia.in the period from Antiquity to Early Modern Age. In addition, the course assumes knowledge at the level of high school world history textbooks.
