【Course Objectives】

The goal of this course is to provide students with a basic understanding of Japanese history from ancient times to the early modern era and the overall structure and development of Japanese history.
As research progresses, new images of Japanese history are being drawn. This course aims to help students acquire the ability to think historically and draw a new image of Japanese history supported by a variety of values through contact with the latest research findings.

【Course Contents】

This course is designed to help students understand the historical events that occurred in the Japanese archipelago from ancient times to the early modern era, taking into account the latest research findings on changes in the natural environment and the relationship with the situation in East Asia.
In addition to the important historical events of each period, the lecture will be derivered touching on what and how historiography has or has not been able to reveal.
