【Course Objectives】

The first goal of this course is to read and analyse British short stories, considering their contexts and other aspects. The second goal is to explain one's own analysis in simple language to other students and to discuss it with them. Ultimately, through these discussions, all students are expected to relativize their own readings and analyses. In the process, they will hopefully gain new knowledge not only about the works but also about themselves.

【Course Contents】

Students are required to read a short British work prior to attending the class. Every week, several students present what they found interesting about the text and their own interpretations. Based on these presentations, in-class discussions will be held, with the instructor providing additional information and guiding the discussions as necessary. Students are expected to deepen their own thinking in the course of these discussions.
