【Course Objectives】

Learning how to read, interpret and write about postmodern American fiction and literary theory.

【Course Contents】

Postmodern visions of the world, reality and imagination, fact and fiction, meta-narrative and metafiction, will be traced through a number of characteristic literary works. During this course the drama of the American postmodern experience will be analyzed, appreciated, and critiqued. Students are expected to attend class every week and participate actively in each of the class sessions. Students will be expected to complete all of the weekly readings and writing assignments. And all students are required to submit (and revise) a research paper on one of the texts discussed during the course.
