Students will consider Shakespeare plays from a performance aspect in addition to gaining basic knowledge of Western theatrical history.
Students will conduct an overview of Shakespeare plays’ performance histories, scripts, theatrical style, and changes in theater shape. Students will also learn about Shakespeare performances originating in Japan that were later exported abroad.

上演という側面からシェイクスピア戯曲を考察し，あわせて西洋演劇史に関する基礎的な知識を習得する。
Students will consider Shakespeare plays from a performance aspect in addition to gaining basic knowledge of Western theatrical history.
シェイクスピア戯曲の上演史を概観し，台本，演戯スタイル，劇場形態の変遷を概説する。また，日本から世界に発信されたシェイクスピア上演にも言及する。
