This course will help students correctly pronounce and perceive sounds of the English language.
In addition, it will also help them understand the movements of vocal organs when they pronounce English sounds.
This course provides an introduction to English phonetics.
Students will learn how English sounds are articulated.

英語の単音（子音・母音）、および、連続音を正しく発音し、聴き取れるようになる。
さらに、英語音声を発音する際の音声器官の動きを理解できるようになる。
This course will help students correctly pronounce and perceive sounds of the English language.
In addition, it will also help them understand the movements of vocal organs when they pronounce English sounds.
単音、連続音を発音する際の音声器官の動きについて講義する。
単音、連続音の聴取練習をおこなう。
This course provides an introduction to English phonetics.

| 1 | 子音の分類（調音点、調音様式、声の３つの変数による分類）、閉鎖音の音素と異音 |
| 2 | 声門の開口度（有声音・無声音、有気音・無気音との対応関係） |
| 3 | 摩擦音 （どの音声器官のあいだに隙間があるのかを理解する） |
| 4 | 破擦音（破擦音を構成する破裂音と摩擦音の調音点は同じ）、鼻音 （緩やかな閉鎖の開放、鼻音と有声閉鎖音の対応を理解する） |
| 5 | 側面音、半母音 （エル音は２種類、半母音は３種類あることを理解する） |
| 6 | 母音の概説、単母音（短母音と長母音の分類は便宜的なものであることを理解する） |
| 7 | 単母音（長母音は二重母音化の傾向があることを理解する） |
| 8 | 二重母音（「狭い二重母音」、「広い二重母音」、「r の二重母音」の３種類を理解する） |
| 9 | 音節と子音結合（グラフ化することで規則性があることを理解する） |
| 10 | 鼻腔開放、側面開放、鼻音化されたたたき音、歯茎音（の連続）のたたき音化（規則性があることを理解する） |
| 11 | 子音の同化（調音点、調音様式、声の３つの変数それぞれに同化がある）、音の脱落 （子音の脱落、母音の脱落、それぞれに規則性があることを理解する） |
| 12 | 語アクセント、複合語アクセント、句アクセント （規則性が存在することを理解する） |

教科書の音声は教科書付属CDに収録されており、出版社のHPから音声をダウンロードできる形になっていません。CDを再生する手段を持たない人は各自対処してください。
