【Course Objectives】

In recent years, the media has discussed "a divided America" and "America's declining ability to transmit its culture." The goal of this class is to reveal the "stability" of the United States, the oldest republican nation in the world today, with the oldest component constitution in the world, through a history and a history of its institutions. We hope that this will be an opportunity to learn the historical context necessary for the study of American literature.

【Course Contents】

We will examine the colonial period, which created the prototype for the "states" that characterize the United States.
We will examine what the American Revolution brought to the American people and what it made them lose.
We will provide material to examine whether American history is a "special Western history" or a "universal world history.”
Ultimately, we offer a perspective for understanding America today.
