【Course Objectives】

Students will read and comprehend German original text sets. Students will improve their German reading/language skill to prepare for their graduation thesis. At the same time, they will acquire ability to reflect upon impacts of history and politics modern population’s lifestyles, thoughts, cultural phenomena and societies.

【Course Contents】

After the Fall of the the Berlin Wall and the reunion of East and West Germany, more than thirty years later, many of their stories have faded. But we are now faced with another conflicts and climate of division - in the age of pandemic and economic disparity nowadays - how could we now reflect "the history of the Berlin Wall" from the view of the contemporary Japanese Society?
Each lesson will advance based on presentations of selected students. Each time, selected students will create materials to be distributed, complete with translation, grammars, and notes of specified parts. They will make presentation based on these materials. After the presentations by these students, all students will discuss the text contents.
