This course aims to provide a historical overview of the concept of image in modern French philosophy, taking up several specific works to introduce their content in detail.
Each course meeting takes up an important thinker of French philosophy and introduces and explains his image theory. The texts are explained with background. Featured thinkers: Bergson, Sartre, Merleau-Ponty, Bataille, Levi-Strauss, Barthes, Deleuze, Foucault, Derrida, Jean-Luc Nancy, etc.

フランスの現代哲学におけるイメージ論を概観する。いくつかの作品を取り上げ、具体的にその内容を紹介します。
This course aims to provide a historical overview of the concept of image in modern French philosophy, taking up several specific works to introduce their content in detail.
毎回，フランス哲学の重要な思想家をとりあげ，そのイメージ論を紹介，検討する。その際，思想家の生の言葉に触れるように抜粋を読み，時代背景などもからめて解説していきます。取り上げる予定の主な思想家：ベルクソン，サルトル，メルロー＝ポンティ，バタイユ，レヴィ＝ストロース，ロラン＝バルト，ドゥルーズ，フーコー，デリダ，ジャン＝リュック・ナンシーなど
